| Referral and Appointments | ||
|
Referral to The Center for Chest Care requires only one phone call. All patients are seen within seven days, usually sooner.

Once scheduled at The Center for Chest Care, the nurse coordinator personally contacts each patient. The nurse coordinator guides patients through the diagnosis and treatment experience. Prior to the first visit, she may schedule further diagnostic tests. These tests will assist the physicians make accurate decisions about treatment. The nurse coordinator not only helps with preparation for the first visit, but more importantly, with the information and emotional support that is necessary when facing a potential cancer diagnosis.

| Multidisciplinary Conference | ||
|
The key to obtaining the best care for lung cancer and other cancers of the chest is to be evaluated by a multidisciplinary team. The Center for Chest Care discusses each patient at their multidisciplinary conference the same day as his or her visit. Each physician contributes his expertise to every patient's individual treatment plan. As a result, our patients are considered for all treatment options. Patients are called within 24 hours and informed of the team’s recommendations.
